Personal Statement

My name is Antonis Constantinou. I am 23 years old and a fully qualified Digital Designer with an Honours Degree in Design for Digital Media from Grays School of Art – Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Since graduating in July 2009 I have been working regularly as a freelance designer, keeping my skills fresh and up-to-date. I would, however, much prefer the security of a full-time job and to be able to learn from others. I am happy to start in a junior / trainee position as this would allow me to work from the bottom and to learn the basics of the working environment. I am available to work immediately.

At university I specialised in corporate branding and communication, which has allowed me to experience both the aesthetic and functional sides of business communication. I have a lot of experience with writing and revising documents for official use in schools, and have worked with Aberdeen City Council in their city-centre regeneration efforts. I have also worked on a number of client-based projects and am used to following directions based on the clients’ wishes.

Outside of university I have been working on developing my web design and illustration skills; this has allowed me to greatly improve my portfolio in terms of both design and content, and has also allowed me to expand the freelance work that I can offer.

From July 2010 until October 2010 I worked on placement in the graphic design department of Aberdeenshire Council, assisting with some projects and serving as lead designer on others. This has given me invaluable experience of working in a very fast-paced design environment.

I am eager to work and to learn more, and enjoy both working within a team and on my own.

Freelance digital designer working on projects that range from web design and branding to advertising and teaching materials.

Worked at a 10-week placement at Aberdeenshire Council on various priority projects, giving support on some and acting as lead creative designer on others, continually supporting the Corporate Communications team.
